Oh my God, *excited squeal*. I can’t believe this is happening ( it’s happening ) . Oya Favour pinch me. Owww not like that okayyy it’s our blog yipeeeeee we’re so excited. Wait where are my manners, I haven’t even introduced myself. I’m Keyukemi😊 and I’m one of the founders of this blog and there’s the oh so talented Favour who is my co founder. I can’t even remember how this idea originally came about, I mean it started off as a project for a competition and bam we’re actually here doing this. I honestly cannot contain my excitement and it seems Favour can’t either. This is sooo cool. Okay you’re all probably wondering what “Uwam” is sooo we’ll just get down to it. Of course uwam isn’t English, it’s actually an ibibio word so it’ll be more familiar to the Akwa Ibomites . We chose this name because we wanted something original, something that spoke to us and I guess uwam fit the job description. Uwam actually means help in Akwa Ibom and that’s basically what this blog is about.
Uwam is a platform for depressed people to connect and we’re also going to be creating awareness on male sexual abuse on hopes that we’ll be able to help people out of depression and give voice to those people out there who are suffering in silence. We hope this will be of much help to you guys and that it will change your lives. This is a journey of self discovery for both us and all of you beautiful people and we hope that during the course of time you’ll find your purpose that is if you haven’t found it yet and you’ll embrace you for you.
